Did the British abolition of slavery in 1807 have a significant impact in reducing the global practice of slavery? Consider some of the contradictions in abolitionists’ advocacy for abolition (Equiano should be the focus here) as well as the problems Britain faced in enforcing the abolition (use evidence from the Blaufarb book).
The paper will be graded based on the following criteria:
Presence of a clear, effective, and argumentative thesis statement
Effective use of evidence from the Blaufarb book and the sources about Equiano under review
Organization of a structured and well-reasoned argument
Fluid writing style that uses grammar correctly, avoids awkward sentences, and utilizes good topic sentences
The ability to analyze and engage different interpretations of the same historical event
Correct use of the citations according to the History Department Writing Guide (Footnotes)
Plagiarism in any form will result in a failing paper and possible failure for the entire course!
